This Privacy Policy explains how BENJAMIN REIMER (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Learn Famous Quotes mobile application (the “App”).
Privacy at a Glance
Learn Famous Quotes is designed to work without an account or remote service.
- We do not collect or transmit personal information through the App.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, attribution, profiling, or tracking technologies.
- We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted or cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Favourites, personal notes, and App preferences are stored locally on your device.
- Quote wallpapers are generated on your device and saved to your photo library only when you ask the App to save one.
Information Stored on Your Device
The App may store the following information locally in its private App storage:
- identifiers for quotes you save as favourites;
- notes or reflections you write about quotes; and
- settings and preferences needed for App features.
This information is not sent to us. We cannot view, recover, or remotely delete it.
Local App information remains on your device until you change or remove it, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App. Your device’s operating system or backup service may retain a copy according to your device and backup settings. Those services are not controlled by us.
Wallpaper Creation and Photo Library Access
When you choose to save a quote wallpaper, the App:
- creates the wallpaper image locally on your device;
- may temporarily place the generated image in the App’s cache; and
- asks for permission to add that image to your photo library.
The App requests write-only or add-only photo access where the operating system supports it. It does not request permission to browse, read, analyse, or upload the existing photos or videos in your library.
Generated wallpapers are not uploaded to us. Temporary files may remain in the App’s cache until the operating system or the App clears them. A wallpaper saved to your photo library is managed by your device and may remain there after you uninstall the App. If you use a device backup, cloud photo library, editing service, or sharing service, that service may process the image under its own terms and privacy policy.
You may deny or withdraw photo-library permission in your device settings. The rest of the App will remain available, but the App may be unable to save wallpapers to your photo library.
Clipboard Use
When you choose to copy a quote, the App writes the selected quote, attribution, and available source information to your device’s clipboard. The App does not read or collect existing clipboard contents.
Your operating system, keyboard, or other apps may be able to access clipboard content according to their own settings and privacy practices.
Information We Do Not Collect Through the App
The App does not collect or transmit:
- your name, email address, telephone number, or postal address;
- account credentials or authentication information;
- payment or financial information;
- advertising identifiers or other identifiers used to track you;
- precise or approximate location;
- contacts, messages, calendar information, microphone recordings, or camera data;
- the contents of your photo library;
- your personal notes, favourites, or clipboard contents;
- App usage events, interaction history, or advertising data; or
- crash reports, performance telemetry, or other diagnostic analytics.
The App does not contain third-party analytics, advertising, behavioural-tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Communications You Choose to Send
The App does not include an account system or in-App support form. If you contact us outside the App, such as by email, we will receive the information you choose to provide, which may include your email address, name, message, and attachments.
We use that information only to respond, provide support, investigate a reported issue, address an attribution or rights concern, or comply with law. We do not use support communications for advertising or tracking. We retain them only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or as required by law, then delete or anonymise them where reasonably practicable.
Our email provider or another service provider needed to handle your request may process the communication on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose a communication if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, or the security of the App.
App Stores and Device Services
Apple, Google, your device manufacturer, your mobile carrier, and services you enable on your device may separately collect or process information about downloads, purchases, device operation, backups, or use of their services. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and settings, not this Privacy Policy.
An app store may provide us with sales, download, installation, or other store-level reports according to its own policies and your platform settings. We do not combine those reports with App activity or use them to track individual users.
Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. Notes, favourites, and preferences entered by a child remain locally on the device as described above.
If a child contacts us outside the App and a parent or guardian wants the communication deleted, they may contact us using the details below.
Data Security
Because App data remains on your device, its security depends in part on your device, operating-system protections, passcode, account security, and backup settings. No storage method is completely secure. We recommend protecting your device and any cloud backup account with a strong passcode and available security features.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You can:
- add, edit, or remove personal notes within the App;
- add or remove favourite quotes;
- deny or withdraw permission to save images through your device settings;
- delete locally stored App information by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App; and
- delete saved wallpapers separately from your photo library.
Because we do not receive App data, we generally have no App data about you to access, correct, export, or delete. If you have contacted us outside the App, you may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that correspondence. We will honour applicable privacy rights and may need to verify the request before acting on it.
No Sale or Targeted Advertising
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, targeted advertising, or profiling. The App does not display third-party advertising.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App, our practices, or applicable requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide any notice required by law. If a future version introduces analytics, advertising, accounts, cloud synchronisation, or another form of data collection, we will revise this policy and the relevant app-store disclosures before that collection begins.
